Sight Seeing and Pleasure Walks
Sandymount village is a quite, charming old village.
Although close to the city centre, it still has maintained its village
atmosphere, and Victorian architecture. There is a small park in the village
centre, overlooked by cafes, with adjoining side streets, some with shops,
boutiques and banks etc. serving the local community, others leading to
the seafront at Sandymount strand. Some of the many things of interest
in the area are:
• Sandymount village, its park/green, cafes, shops, and architecture
• Sandymount Strand and Beach, including the poolbeg peninsula and
lighthouse
• A lovely walk along the banks of the river dodder, to adjoining
village Ringsend
• The recently restored Sandymount Church is well worth a visit
• The beautiful Herbert Park in Ballsbridge, with its ponds, gardens
and walkways |
